Description

When mounting a page and using the 'Substitute Mount Point (this page) with Mounted page' option an error message will be shown if the the mounted page is placed deeper in the page hierarchy than the mount point.

I would like to be able to use this option regardless of where the mounted page is placed in the page hierarchy

The error message is:

Error!

The requested page didn't have a proper connection to the tree-root!

(Illegal Mount Point found in rootline)

Hmm.. after testing some more I am unsure if the above is correct. I get the error message but I am not sure what the reason is.

If I understand you correctly, I get the same error when doing the following:
I have a page defined as a mount point (mounts another page) and another mount point page underneath this page (one level lower). When displaying the lower page I get the same error as mentioned above.
+- page 1 (mount) |-- page2 (mount)
page1 works, page2 gives error.
When I change the type of page1 to Shortcut, the page2 gets displayed correctly... Seems to be a bug in the handling of mountpoints...?

TYPO3 Version too old.
The reported version is no longer maintained.

If this bug still persists in 4.0.1, please re-open it again and set the field "Product Version" to the corresponding version.
