Description

I recently ran across the 'FCKeditor', a JavaScript based WYSIWYG editor (RTE) that looks like you could save some work by implementing it instead of a java based impelementation. You could then add any needed features to FCKeditor, sending the changes upstream of course, allowing you to focus on other things (like what? I dunno. Whatever you want :-) ) instead of the FCKeditor, but there would still be plenty of people working on the FCKeditor, allowing TYPO3 to benefit from another OSS community.

The FCKeditor supports Gecko based browsers (Mozilla/Firefox/Netscape/possibly others) as well as MS IE (and IE based browsers). I don't know if it supports Opera or not, I would guess so, as it's JavaScript based.

You can find it at www.fckeditor.net

Hope this is useful!
