There is a small typo on bottom of page 53 of the TSref-PDF (and therefore in SXW, I think):
... "paths of TYPO3 (meaning for absolute paths that it must be within the “lockRootDir” set up in TYPO3_CONF_VARS)."
=> There is no Option "lockRootDir", but "lockRootPath".
