tapio wrote at design mailinglist:

ou could add conditional TypoScript to the
skinning CSS, when it is relative easy
to get the same style to the admin panel,
which is used in the BE skin.

[globalVar = TSFE : beUserLogin]
[else]
page.headerData.100 = HTML
page.headerData.100.value=<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="typo3conf/ext/skin_name/stylesheet_post.css" media="screen,projection" />
[end]

Buttons are not changed endeed.
If you install 'tm_contentaccess'
you can copy skin-related button set
to '/tm_contentaccess/fe-icons/' folder,
when you can relative easily get skinsupport
to the admin panel

This is still not the case. The admin panel should at least be changed to use the new design and icons.
