Description

I name my pages by first by date and then by name, so ie: 2006 Jeddah , 2006 Dubai or 2005 Abu Dhabi. If i sort these pages by 'pagetiles' you'd expect to get a listing of

2006 Dubai
2006 Jeddah
2005 Abu Dhabi

but instead it reverse the alphabetical order, but it doesn't reverse the date (or vice versa). I see this:

2006 Jeddah
2006 Dubai
2005 Abu Dhabi

v4 beta3
(issue imported from #M2697)

I would rather expect

2005 Abu Dhabi
2006 Dubai
2006 Jeddahor

and this works for me.

guess it's just not possible then. In the case you describe it will list indeed from lowest number to highest number, and then take alphabetic characters into account.

I have a hierarchy based on year of completion, in this case you'd want latest project listed first. But at the same time I'd like to list them in alphabetical order

But a ranking based in highest numbers to lowest numbers, and followed by alphabetic characters seems to be not possible (in general). I didn't realized that (guess i was to pissed off after manually rearranging 200+ pages)

So if i'm correct with this observation, you can close this report. (sorry for any inconvenience)
