pagebrowser in site-view for a large amount of content elements

when you're in site-view and you've got a large amount of content elements. (in my case 3000+ tt_news) it takes a lot of time to load the site. in this case approx. a minute.
it would be very nice if there would be a pagebrowser like in list-view.

maybe a limit would fix this too. when i'm accessing news storage folder in site view accidantally its a pain.

Well, I would suggest to a) set a default limit of e.g. 200 oder 250 items per page and table, and b) make this configurable via TSconfig. Sometimes, you need more items, sometimes you have a lot of different tables on one page and only want to display more than 20, but less than 200 or 250 items.
The feature TYPO3 already has to limit the display to 20 items per default is nice, but 20 is in many cases just too few items.

I did not see anything like a limit of 20 elements. okay: i did not have more than 20 typo3 content elements, but over 3000 tt_news elements.

The issue is very old, does this issue exists in newer versions of TYPO3 CMS (4.5 or 6.1)?
