No translation for error messages and / or modules

Description
As Martin Kutschker proposed on the hci-list, I researched some issues regarding the translation of error messages. Here are my results:
- class.t3lib_extfilefunc.php * starting at line 653 - messages on lines 674 - 689 * func_rename (start 699 - messages: 712 - 719) * func_newfile (start 729 - messages: 747 - 756) * func_edit (start 766 - messages 782 - 789) * func_upload (start 837 - messages 855 - 862)
I get no error messages when trying to edit - say - pagecontent if I'm not allowed to, I just get an empty right page.
I have also found missing localized messages in the following modules:
- the tools>db-check page (advanced search is still missing)
I hope this helps someone. If there is help needed in translating the messages I can do it, but I can't implement them.

The issue is very old, does this issue exists in newer versions of TYPO3 CMS (4.5 or 6.1)?
