This has happened twice, on two different sites, one using typo 3.6 and one using 4.1.1.
Suddenly, in the middle of an editing session, I lose the ability to save any edits. While creating or modifying a page or content element, everything looks ok until I hit the "save" or "save and view" or "save and close", I get a blank frame where the edited object should be (just the rightmost frame, the menu and pagetree are still visible). The changes are not saved.
I have 'solved' this by copying the database and fileadmin/ etc., to a fresh install. This fixes the problem, without any other changes to the site. I have found no other workaround or fix.
