can you tell us a bit more? Where did you encounter this problem, does this happen with every page when tt_news is installed?

As Benni already mentioned, we need some more input.
Also your error message was cut off "in /httpd/trunk/t3lib/class.t3lib_htmlmail.php on lin..." - when we have the line number, this would also be helpful.
(besides that I could not find any PHP parse error in the mentioned file, maybe locally currupted file due to patching?)

this bug can be closed..
with latest 4.2 beta 3 the problem isn't there anymore!
