Description

Having the start/stop times in a palette next to the hide buttons creates the impression that the content element will be unhidden or hidden at the start/stop times, i.e. editors might be inclined to think that they need to check the hide box when the set a start time. Of course the hide option overrides the start time, but the layout of these functions is ambiguous and creates the impression that these options are somehow linked. I've experienced this with numerous users and have to admit that that was my impression as well initially.
From a usability perspective it would be better to separate these options, i.e. have a separate palette for start/stop times.

With the BE redesign for TYPO3 4.2 the option "Hide" is in the "General" tab while the start/stop dates are in the "Access" tab.
This way they are seperated clearly.
