Description
Due to the changes within "typo3/sysext/t3skin/stylesheets/stylesheet_post.css" the vertical alignment settings which can be applied with the TCA.
This happens because the CSS ( th,td { vertical-align: top; } ) is stronger compared to the valign-HTML attribute which is used at the moment.

Whether it works or not can be tested with the imagemap_wizard extension ;)
