I forget to mention that this is firefox on MAC OS X. The Pagetree Menu works in Safari but not in Firefox 3.5.5. not even after upgrade to Typo3 4.3 RC1

Do you have an extension installed, which manipulates the click menu?

Maybe one of these:
http://wiki.typo3.org/index.php/Upgrade#Extensions_that_are_not_yet_compatible

In a clean installation the clickmenu works for me in Firefox 3.5.5.
If the error is not with one of the extensions named above, you should uninstall all extensions which are no sysexts, empty your cache and reinstall them one by one. Always clear your cache and see, when the error is there again....

I have made a clean install of Typo3 4.3.0 with Dummy Site, used the update wizard in the Installer, Firefox 3.5.5 on Mac OS X, no Page tree menu.

I just remember that I had such issue once, too:

Make sure that you have enabled JavaScript under Extras -> Settings -> Content -> Activate Javascript. (Should already be OK, otherwise you would not be able to log in.)

But in the same menu under Advanced you must have checked „Deactivate or replace context menu“ (and not as you wrote unchecked).

Does that help?

I just checked that myself: Unsetting the option brings exactly the behaviour you described (no context menu on right click, but context menu when moving a page).

I set this one to solved now.
