the Browser condition
[browser = msie] and [version = 7]
or
[browser = msie] and [version = <8.0]
doesn't work with the "ie7 compatibility mode" of IE8
(issue imported from #M14010)

Please test with TYPO3 4.4beta2 or newer if this still is a problem!
There were several fixes inbetween: #22511 and #22511.
According to http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2009/01/09/the-internet-explorer-8-user-agent-string-updated-edition.aspx this might be working now.

The same happens with TYPO3 4.3.5.
Any fixes available for that version?

@ Claudio: Unfortunately not.
Can someone test if these conditions work correctly for IE in copmpatibility mode in TYPO3 4.4 or 4.5?
