Bug #24450
closedthere are no secondary options
0%
Description
Currently there is a 4.4.4 version is use. The problems occoured after updating TYPO3 to a newer version.
In the working version the editors just created text elements to add new content to the site. They needed to use html tags and were able to set some predefinied options for font color, size and type (in text tab). Since this update the checkbox in BE is useless. Neither a checked nor an unchecked box will show these options. Currently they need to copy old, existing "template" elements to use the correct font color, size and type.
How do I reenable the text options used in "show secondary options (palettes)" in BE.
(issue imported from #M16887)

The concept to have something called "secondary options" has changed. Those palettes basically have been removed for TYPO3 4.5.
These options are now integrated in the new layout when editing tt_content elements (I think...).

Exactly this is how it's supposed to be working now.
The default TCA for the pages and the tt_content table is now showing all available fields without having to activate any "secondary options". Each of the fields has been moved to a certain palette that is set to "can not collapse", and these palettes have been moved to the appropriate tabs in the new tab structure.
Just go to the "Appearance" tab and you should see these fields, unless you activated the CSS-styled-content page TSconfig in the extension manager, since this would disable these fields by default.
Still the checkbox "show secondary options" will be necessary for those extensions that add palettes which can collapse.
I guess this bug can be closed, since it's a feature ;-)

OK, I disabled the extension and the fields were shown.
I was unable to find this solution in google so I reported the "bug". Sorry for that.
Next problem was that this extension is enabled by default and I was unable to see the fields in a new installed system.

You can disable the checkbox for page tsconfig in the extension manager.
This way you can keep CSS styled content installed, while still having the "old school" fields available.
