Description

After an upgrade to 4.5.5 from 4.0 using the RTE it prepends extra mailto:typo3/ to an email address.
Each time you save it, it prepends additional mailto:typo3/, so you end up with mailto:typo3/mailto:typo3/mailto:typo3/email@address.com

I've cleared RTEHtmlArea, cleared caches on browser and Typo3 to no avail. Error occurs in FF 3.6, and FF6 and Safari. It is ok with Internet Explorer 8, so it probably relates to the gecko engine again.

Something similar is described in #20377, which is 2 years old and marked as resolved.
