BE keeps logging me out

Description
Not sure if i'm posting in the right section but need help with logging into Typo3's backend.
I've googled but cant find any mention of this problem.
I'm new to Typo3 and have just installed it.
When i login to the backend it immediatly logs me out.
This happens 9 out of 10 times. it begins to load the backend page but then brings back the login prompt.
On the rare occasion that i do get into the backend it then logs me out randomly when i click into any of the options.
Sometimes after i've logged in, a login window pops up:
"Refresh Login to Typo3 (User:name)
Your Typo3 login has expired.
You need to login again if you want to continue.."
but after entering the pw it logs me out again.
I've tried the following:
Different browsers, all same result)
deleting browser cache and cookies
Mac and PC (i'm on mac usually)
Reinstalling Typo3
(I installed using Fantastico which automated the install/database setup)
TYPO3_VERSION: 4.5.6
PHP_VERSION : 5.2.17
SERVER_SOFTWARE: Apache
Linux
any ideas?

Unfortunately this is not the right place for user questions.

Besides that I'd highly recommend to start off with TYPO3 4.6.1 and PHP 5.3 for new installations instead of 4.5.

In which mailinglist is the solution to this problem? We have the same problem here on many clients with many different browsers and operating systems. Why is this only a user question and not a bug? It is really annoying to get thrown out every few clicks...
Has anybody solved this somehow?

Try disabling your ad-blocker for the domains you are having trouble with.

There is no general logout problem in TYPO3 4.5, 6.2 or 7/master.

For future visitors with the same problem:
Try setting [BE][lockIP] to 0 in the Install Tool and/or set the "Disable IP Lock" checkbox inside the records of the backend users that encounter that problem.
