Description

The TemplateService class has a really hard-to-understand structure with cryptic variable names and overly long methods. It should be cleaned up (as far as is possible within a major release). This might also open new perspectives for improving caching within that class.

I'll be closing down this one.
Not because it's wrong or something - we all agreed to clean up things bit by bit.
And up until now every time we got a new ticket for the cleanup :)
