Using rtehtmlarea shipped with TYPO3 4.5, 6.2, 7.6 and using Mozilla Firefox (tested on different versions including the current version 46):

After an editor sets a link, directly hitting Shift+Enter or Space doesn't finish the link tag if the caret is placed right after the last letter of the linked text. Afterwards, the caret will still be within the link tag and therefore the link will continue. This is especially bothering if the link is the last content, since circumventions are necessary to end that link tag (e.g. hitting enter and deleting the paragraph afterwards).

Further obeservations: The problem also occurs, if the caret is placed within an existing link and then moved after the last linked letter by hitting right arrow. The problem doesn't occur, if the caret ist moved after the last letter from outside the link tag (eg by hitting left arrow).
