Description

In pageTSConfig, constants can't be used in page condition. e.g.
[page|uid = {$pid.root}]

Unfortunately this does not work at all.

Constants are a concept of TypoScript ("constants" and "setup"), where as PageTS can rather be seen as a huge array with some special logic of conditions, but thats it. There are more "downsides" to PageTS - like you cannot use cObjects definitions at all.

Sorry, but that's rather not going to change in the near future.
