Recordlist shows content of wrong folder

Description
How to reproduce:
- open record list browser (e.g. image field of a content element)
- select a folder from the tree on the left side > right side shows correct folder content expand a folder on the left side
- select a subfolder of the folder you just expanded
- current behaviour: right side shows content of the wrong/old folder
- expected: right side should show content of the newly selected (expanded) subfolder
Works fine in 6.2. LTS, broken in 7 LTS and master
