Issue¶
Install tool > Folder structue
Default File permissions (SYS/fileCreateMask) Recommended: 0660. Currently configured as 0664 (readable by anyone on the server). This is the default set by TYPO3 CMS to be as much compatible as possible but if your system allows, please consider to change rights.

The install tool recommends 0660 but sets 0664 to be as much compatible as possible, and then gives a warning.

If the install tool could check what the system allows, it could set directly to 0660.

that's hard: we had a more specific and detailed analysis in the first versions within folder structure code and ended up with relaxing that over time since tons of issues with all the broken setups out there evolved. nailing this area down is hard to achieve.
