Description

Creating new Backend user on root level will not save the password in the database.

TYPO3 Version: 8.7.6
Webserver: Apache
PHP Version: 7.0.22-1~dotdeb+8.1
Database (Default): MySQL 5.5.39
Application Context: Production
Operating System: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64

Not confirmed. Works on my side - and it would be pretty puzzling if this breaks in the core with default settings and is released not noticed.

Please check if some broken extension hooks in there or does funny stuff, also check your ext:saltedpasswords settings.

Hi Christian,
I've found that this is not a problem with any of the plugins.
This error is caused by JavaScript validation in Chrome. (v. 63) Firefox working properly.
