TYPO3: 8.7.8
PHP: 7.0.22
This issue might already exist, but I can't manage to find it. It was even not possible for me to find the correct category; "Backend User Interface", "FAL", "Misc" or "Security"? Sorry :-)
Issue: When setting File or folder access rights in be_groups, the setttings are always overridden by the TYPO3 default values. It is not possible to keep custom settings.

Can you reproduce this issue with the current 8.7.13 or 9.3-dev? If so, can you please document your steps?

What do you mean with "overridden"? That your values are not saved? Or not taken into account? maybe you stepped into this one? https://forge.typo3.org/issues/83714
