Top searchbar does not find hidden records

Description
The top searchbar in the Typo3 8.7 backend does not find any hidden records. The normal search in list view finds hidden records without any problem, it's just the searchbar at the top of the backend, next to the username (see attached screenshot).
I don't know if this is intentional, but I can't find any setting to change this behaviour. I already asked about it in the Typo3 CMS slack channel but unfortunately no response.
If it is intended behaviour, maybe some TSConfig option can be added to enable searching for hidden records?
