TYPO3 TypoScript offers a way to fetch data via getText: https://docs.typo3.org/m/typo3/reference-typoscript/master/en-us/DataTypes/Index.html

This is also available to fetch data from files, using file as prefix as documented here: https://docs.typo3.org/m/typo3/reference-typoscript/master/en-us/DataTypes/Properties/GetText.html#file

The documentation already uses the possible way including whitespaces file : 17 : size. There is no single place where parsing of those strings is implemented.
Instead that specific part is implemented at getFileDataKey() of ContentObjectRenderer and uses simple explode() instead of GeneralUtility::trimExplode(). Therefore, whitespaces are not supported.
