Workspace module: child elements are not automatically selected as well

Description
When I want to publish elements to another stage and I select an element, all child elements are not automatically selected as well.
In this example I have a custom mask banner element which has repeating fields for each individual banner.
If I select the banner element on the root level the child elements were not selected. You have to open each element and select each individual element on it's own and then publish it.
I would have expected, that when I select an element, all child elements are automatically selected as well.

This behaviour was noticed in TYPO3 10.4.16
