Steps to reproduce:

Go to user settings and disable RTE
Create a new Text content element while adding the string Some plain text to the bodytext field
Save the content element

Expected:

Field bodytext contains: Some plain text

Actual:

Field bodytext contains: <p>Some plain text</p>
