TCA selectMultipleSideBySide filter not working in current Safari

Description
For current Safari macOS (16.2) and TYPO3 11.5.22 the selectMultipleSideBySide filter just doesn't do anything.
Steps to reproduce:- edit a
be_userrecord using list module - scroll to groups, go into filter of the right pane “available objects”
- enter some search string in order to filter the box below accordingly.
For all my browsers this works, except for Safari on macOS (tested with 16.2 and 16.3). However as Safari is my default browser, this seems to be a newer issue, I first noticed that with TYPO3 11.5.22, but can't remember when exactly it last worked.
I've the same behaviour for custom records which use similar TCA, so it seems to be a general issue and not be_user related.
The browser console is empty concerning this (just a warning Initializing all date pickers globally has been marked as deprecated. Please pass a specific element.)

Still persistent in TYPO3 11.5.27 and Safari 16.4; not install specific as it also occurs on https://demo.typo3.org/typo3/

- TYPO3 Version changed from 11 to 12
- PHP Version changed from 7.4 to 8.1
Same on TYPO3 12LTS and PHP8.1
