Description

go to http://babelfish.altavista.com/ and in the url field enter a typo3 designed site (like say www.typo3.com or www.typo3.org ) and translate.

This shows that altavista seems to choke on '/*<![CDATA[[*/'

Please implement a way (or point me to where to enable it, or what extension to get) to remove all instances of '/*<![CDATA[[*/' so that the babelfish doesn't choke.

Yes, I know about and use Google translate. But for those of my customers who don't speak english, or don't understand it very well, and need some page that I haven't translated yet (or perhaps that I don't have the resources to translate), have more than one way to get the translation of their page.

I have been using Altavista because it was very convenient to say "translate from german" or some such thing in firefox using the "translate" extension. This would pull up altavista babelfish. Now that I have been searching for typo3 information, of which alot is in german (aber Ich spreche Deutsch neue ein bistein) so that I need translation help, I have found a way to use the translate extension with Google Translate. However, I don't want any customers to have to 'learn' something to use/translate my website. I would like it to just work.

Thanks!

PS Perhaps I should have posted this in a forum, wiki, or mailing-list. If such is the case, please point me in the right direction so that I can have this issue addressed. Thanks for your patience.

This is clearly a babelfish bug because TYPO3 produces valid XHTML. Please complain to altavista for a fix. As a workaround, try to move CSS and JS to an external file, see TSRef on how to do this, or ask in the newsgroups.

Indeed, as has been pointed out, this is not a TYPO3 issue.
