Description

I've put some umlauts in the de section of my locallang.xml an get scrambled output in frontend.

Related to:

http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=2673

Only way to fix this was to modifie the class.t3lib_cs.php and put utf-8 to language german than leave this blank

I cannot see any umlauts or any label at all in the attached locallang.xml. Are you sure you attached the right file to the bug report?

Could you provide some example code on when it goes wrong? I just did a quick test and it seems to work:

Place your locallang.xml into fileadmin/locallang.xml and have this TS-setup:

page = PAGE
page.typeNum = 0
page.10 = TEXT
page.10.data = LLL:fileadmin/locallang.xml:lang_payment_description

I switched my site from UTF-8 to "regular" DE setup (iso-8859-1) and both outputs were shown correctly in the FE.

I'using utf-8 because all my sites are utf-8 for usindg it as multiple language page. And Im using locallang.xml through Local_Lang Attribute fille by readLL.

Joerg, could you provide us with some PHP-code from your plugin where we can reproduce the problem? I have several UTF-8 installations that are using locallang.xml UTF-8 encoded strings just fine, which is why I need some code from you to be able to reproduce it (or not).
