Bug #17869
closedInstalling extensions via different domains
0%
Description
I have two domains pointing to my typo3 webhost. Lets call them domain1.com and domain2.com.
I log into http://domain1.com/typo3 and install an extention (my example was jh_random_records - but the same error occurs with other extensions)
I then applyed the extension to a page that belongs to the domain2.com part of the page tree. View I visit http://domain2.com, the installed extension does not work.
I then log into http://domain2.com/typo3 which points to the same typo3 system.
I then browse the list of installed extensions and find that jh_random_records is not on the list...
ERROR: Installing an extension via one domain does not install the extension via another domain.

I've never heard of something like this. Could you check this behaviour again with TYPO3 4.5beta2?

Could it be related to the problem mentioned here: http://lists.typo3.org/pipermail/typo3-dev/2010-November/042052.html

It's pretty easy to explain what happens, because it happened to me: if you use temp_CACHED with a site path hash (which includes the domain name) the temp_CACHED files on installation are only rewritten for the domain where you install the extension. As I think this is more or less "by design", I'll close this bug -- you can configure extCache differently or manually clear all temp_CACHED files
