I got the same error when I create a new workspace. It doesn't save the name for a new workspace and pops up a "login probabaly expired" window on every save. Also 4.2.2.

Got an similar problem with tt_products-Elements.
When I try to change constants of tt_products via the constand editor and try so save -> "Login-error or session timed-out". The same when ich try to give right to user via access-list, when I select some tt_products-related und try to save -> "Login-error or session timed-out".
Patch http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=9497 is installed.
