This is not working since TYPO3 4.2.0. In that release, undo/redo was modified to used intrusive bookmarks so that caret position could be restored on undo/redo. In the case of interest (entering an url or email address followed by a space), the intrusive bookmark would affect the Firefox selection, moving it out of the current text node. The attached patches will restore the Firefox selection so that it remains inside the text node.

Note that the patches are different for branch TYPO3_4-2 and trunk.
