Description

Sometimes, if you are saving twice, or, on lower bandwith just opening a record and save+closing it before rte is loaded completely, it occurs that there are alle the contents of rte-fields are deleted.
I tried several times, but i can't reproduce it every time, but in 2 of 3 times i am fast enough clicking on my broadband, that the problem occurs.

at least on Firefox 3.5.5 + 3.5.6

Probably the problem has to do with #18523 which has been closed because never been responded by the creator of the ticket

Most of the time I can reproduce this problem with IRRE contents which are 'large' enough. So i put in some pictures and several irre contents, each of them a std CE TEXT with image or TEXT.
now save+close (first time you are always happy.

then open the data a second time, and (if you have also fast i-net or working locally) prepare yourself to click on the save-button immediatley after it is appearing.

it is anyoing, because one of my customers experiences this problem quite often (several times a day). and if there are 15 or 20 IRRE elements and all the contents are gone this is really bad.

btw: if CE is 'table' nothing happens 'cause there is not loaded RTE, just a simple textbox. We NEVER experienced vanishing contents outside an RTE.

And of course the contents are available in the history of t3.

aehm, latenight now. ;)

sorry, this could have been written more clearly:

So i put in some pictures:

Explanation: the pictures I am speaking of are IN the RTE fields of my IRRE records (and not only IRRE!). don't get confused by 'text with image'. this has nothing to do with the problem. i only wanted to point out, that this happens with STD-T3-CEs.

ahm, and:

Happened to me as well, Typo3 4.3, Firefox 3.5. I also had the case where content was overwritten because of an involuntary right-click directly followed by a left-click. The problem was aggravated by the fact that UNDO did not light up in the editor.

Anyone tested the attached patch?

Testing is in progress here.
At the moment I am awaiting feedback of the editors on their production-system, but by now everything looks ok to me.
I will leave a message here again as soon as I got feedback from my customers editors.

After looking at your patch, it seemed to me, that you think it is a timing problem.
This sounds reasonable to me, and also explains why I could not really reproduce this bug in my office.
My editors which have the problem have weak I-net, me at office I have broadband.

Today I got the feedback from my editors.

It seems to be, that this bug does not occur any more, and that it has no sideeffect.
4.3.1, patch applied since a couple of weeks.

please integrate in next bugfixing release.

thxal, Clemens
