Description
Implement what was done for RFC #22657 when using DBAL.
This is considered a bug as it is not the same behavior as in Core and as such may be committed, once implemented, to the DBAL_1-1 branch (TYPO3 4.4).

Hi Xavier,
the problem mentioned in related TFC isn't the explain output but the exception thrown with DBAL if you fire such query:
$GLOBALS['TYPO3_DB']->exec_INSERTquery('', array('field1' => '789'));
The exception is thrown because table value is empty. Without DBAl you get this error in debug console:
caller t3lib_DB::exec_INSERTquery
ERROR You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '(field1) VALUES ('789')' at line 1
lastBuiltQuery INSERT INTO (field1) VALUES ('789')

as this issue is very old. Does the problem still exists within newer versions of TYPO3 CMS (4.5 or 6.1)?
