Forms do not reload after saving in "add record" wizard
Added by Nico de Haen about 14 years ago.
Updated about 11 years ago.
Description
If a multiselect field has an add-wizard, the form does not reload after adding a record.
Usually the forms reloads so the fresh created record is selectable.
Best solution would be an "inline reload".
(which would also be useful if a "type" field in a form was changed, instead of reloading the whole form)

Hi,
as this issue is very old. Does the problem still exists within newer versions of TYPO3 CMS (4.5 or 6.1)?
Well I just tested it with 6.1 and 6.2: if the add wizard type is "script", then the page reloads anyway and all is fine. If it's configured as "popup" it opens a new window (not a tab and the add form is displayed there. When you close it the returnUrl (i.e. the edit form of the parent record) is loaded and the new added element is there. But the old edit form with the not updated data is still open in the first window (with the whole backend). That's quite confusing, especially if you close and save it there your previous modifications from the new form will be overwritten.
Tested in Chrome, Firefox, Safari on Mac.
So maybe we should update the target version
Or should I open a new ticket with a better fitting title for the current problem?

Hi Nico,
this sounds like another issue. It seams he don't find the window from which he was opened. For that problem please open a new issue report.
Thanks for helping.
