i can confirm this (tested with 4.2beta3 on IE7/winXP)

But it's solved in my current developing version, so next release should work with the next release.

Saving without the T3editor enabled still doesn't work.
Closing doesn't work either.
The form seems to be just reloaded.

So you CAN save changes in IE7/WinXP but ONLY with the T3editor enabled BUT you won't be able to close the editing form at all.

SInce the editor is not enabled by default and many people might not know that it exists, I guess this issue can't be cosed yet.

Since this is not just a t3editor issue maybe the category should be changed?

But in the final release was another bug:
when installing the t3editor in the extmng and disabling it in the template modul (checkbox) saving by clicking the save-icon does not work

The patch doesn't work for me (Typo3 4.2.0/IE7/WinXP).

Without the t3editor I can neither close the template editor nor save any changes.

(However, the editor in "whole template record mode" works just fine.)

It seems that the bug is fixed in version 4.2.1.
