There are quite a lot of system extensions in the core. We should re-evaluate which of those
a) have really needed core functionality
b) have good enough quality
c) are actively maintained
- simulatestatic
- recycler

This is a tough issue. On one hand we should have often needed functionality in the core, on the other hand we need functionality which is less often needed but which is necessary in enterprise environments.

I'll close this issue for now. simulatestatic has been removed with 6.0, and statictemplates will probably fall with 6.1. Other extensions should get their own issues.
