Description

The thrown exception is not that helpful while information about the path is missing.

Core: Exception handler (CLI): Uncaught TYPO3 Exception: #1170251400: Could not create directory! | RuntimeException thrown in file /var/www/sony/deploy/typo3_src-4.6/t3lib/class.t3lib_div.php in line 2995

Adding some more inforation to the exception message would help to solve such issues.
