Description

When changing a field type in an IRRE form, the dreaded alert "This change will affect which fields are available in the form. Would you like to save now in order to refresh the display?" appears, and if you want the desired options to appear, the entire form is reloaded.

All fields are closed after that, and you have to tediously find the record you were working on, open it and enter the rest of the data.

So it's an UX flaw that compromises the niceness of IRRE.

To reproduce this, try e.g. powermail

Could the IRRE behaviour be modified so IRRE field types and the corresponding options could be changed dynamically without a reload?

Please correct me if this is changed in 6.x, I am still on 4.5

It's still the "old" user-unfriendly behaviour in 6.1.5 and really nagging the editors and limiting the use of IRRE child records.
