Bug #55321
closedHello World predefined distribution on Typo3 6.2 on XAMPP

Description
I just tested the Hello World predefined distribution on Typo3 6.2
After installation I had to do the following things to get the introduction package on the localhost running:
1. All typoScript paths were wrong:
The files were installed in fileadmin/helloworld/default/.. the typoScript template paths were fileadmin/default/...
2. The extension automaketemplate which is used in the typoScript setup was not installed, so I had to install it manually
3. The config Constants for example {$config.absRefPrefix} were not replaced and I could not find a config constants file, so I wrote the domain name in the setup.
Maybe you want to fix this things for the release of 6.2, so that the distribution can be used without problems?
with best regards

The helloworld extension is just a proof of concept of the distribution management concept (download extension, install, dependencies, build a page tree and extract resources). It does not work at all.
For final 6.2.0 we will have a ready "introduction" package again.

I too have been bitten by this "bug".
I have installed what I believed to be 6.2LTS so that should be a stable, workable version.
If this preconfigured distribution continues to ship then it should contain the simple phrase "It does not work at all" in the description.
For those who are trying Typo3 for the first time the frustration caused by this package would likely see them off forever.
Marking this as Rejected is a mistake in my opinion.

6.2.0)
We should remove the helloworld distribution, because now we have the real working "introduction" distribution. Thanks for reminding us of this!

The "helloworld" bogus package has been removed from TER, so it does not appear anymore for downloading in the "Get Packages" page.
