Description

Notification emails will not be sent if "changeable preselection" is not selected and "Default notification mail recipients" is only a "Backend user" not a "Backend usergroup".

Please describe which steps you took inside the workspace module where you would have expected that notifications would have been sent. Can you please attach a screenshot of the dialog shown in the workspace module?
