Description

Running TYPO3 9.5.7.
The last element in the page tree cannot be dragged & dropped after itself, no horizontal line appears which would indicate that you could drop it there.
This means it is not directly possible to make a copy of the last page in the page tree and place it after the original page.

I don't know if it can considered a bug as itself: the drag and drop is used to move a page into another position (and optionally make a copy of it), so moving the last element after itself seems a kind of countersense.

It could have sense if it would be possible to direcly copy the element with the simultaneous pressing of ctrl (or option) key while dragging.

Can this issue become a Feature?

Drag&drop on a page results in a popup menu asking whether to move or to copy. So it is possible to copy already.

I agree Ctrl-Drag&Drop should possibly result in copy (I intuitively tried it that way first), but I think this is another issue, so maybe open one for that?

Maybe I explained myself poorly. I know it is possible (I wrote "and optionally make a copy of it"); but this choice comes after you start to use drag and drop; the "copy after last element" should work IMO only when you press the option key to copy the folder; I think that even your operating system doesn't let you move a folder after itself, right? ;)

I see two possible scenarios here

1) Let you move/copy a page after itself as per your request, but in that case in the "prompt" window the "Move" button should be disabled as it does not have sense in this case

2) Don't let you drag/drop a page after itself (as now); the operation will become possible only if you press ctrl/option while dragging - this is my previous suggestion.

I admit I prefer the 2) solution as it would be nearer to other interface experiences and because the 1) seems more convoluted: It is like saying to your user: "I let you start an action but after that I tell you that it is not totally correct and then I have to disable the options that are not correct"

Yes, you can do so if you wish. Regards. There is also this issue that could be considered related: https://forge.typo3.org/issues/83175
