Description

Since version 9.5, options.pageTree.hideFilter has been deprecated. Editors without permissions to add any doktypes to the pagetree will now always see an open pagetree filter box with an "Enter search term" placeholder, complete with autofocus on page load.

This "always-open filter box ith autofocus" now is the most prominent search box in the backend by far!

The effect is especially pronounced for users with limited access to the pagetree (e.g. news editors with access to individual sysfolders only, see screenshot) and/or for sites with small page trees. Because in these cases a pagetree filter makes no sense at all.

Our BE users frequently and repeatedly mistake the pagetree filter box for a BE search box, resulting in a very frustrating user experience.
