Description

Irish and Maltese are not possible to use in TYPO3
Theses languages are not available in TYPO3\CMS\Core\Localization\Locales and therefore can not be used for normal translation
I dont need the backend to be "ga" or "mt" just the frontend.

To be able to have all official language of the EU would be great

A solution is to add the missing languages by adding them in additional-config:
// Define the languages here...
$GLOBALS['TYPO3_CONF_VARS']['SYS']['localization']['locales']['user']['ga'] = 'Gaelic';
$GLOBALS['TYPO3_CONF_VARS']['SYS']['localization']['locales']['user']['mt'] = 'Maltese';
