Description

It would be nice to be able to remove the javascript employed by this function from the page header to an external file (as is possible with some other javascript stuff using page.config.removeDefaultJS = external).

Obviously this is no show-stopper ;-)

This should not be a feature request. It is a bug, and should be labeled as such. I don't know whether it's in the config.spamProtectEmailAddresses or in config.removeDefaultJS = external but it needs to be fixed.

I would look into the code, but don't know which file to look in and don't have time to find out right now.

I hope someone will please work on this. It puts a significant damper on a typo3 based site I'm working on.

spamProtectEmailAddress isn't the only one that doesn't have JS removed. Using a TMENU_LAYER, there is miscelaneous JS on the page. I'm guessing this is something in removeDefaultJS realm to deal with.

Sorry... duplicate bug opened (http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=3922) but with patch that solves the problem.
@Jacob Floyd: Fixed only for spamProtectEmailAddress, this was the only one at my pages that wasn't removed.
Hope this makes it into 4.0.1
