That would allow us to customize certain TCAdefaults for example on a per user basis...

OTOH code in ext_localconf.php could affect the BE user object (think hook and/or XCLASS).

TYPO3 Version too old.
The reported version is no longer maintained.

If this bug still persists in 4.0.1, please re-open it again and set the field "Product Version" to the corresponding version.

Thats not the right way to handle user dependend things in the TCA. By the way, for initializing a BE user the TCA is needed.
