Description

TYPO3 requires now PHP 4.3, so gd_info() the installer can auto-detect the GD version.

As we dropped support for GD v1, we can drop this, can't we?

No, the installer must check if GD is installed and see if it's version 2. If one condition is not met it must disable GD support in TYPO3.
