Description
See http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=4952
I'm still having this issue but when I disable the HTMLAreaRTE the error stops. So, I don't know if it's still an issue with the Core or not...but it feels like an issue with the RTE.
I'm happy to do whatever I can to solve it because I want to migrate to 4.1 when it's finalized or shortly thereafter. This problem does not happen on Typo3 4.0.5.

It looks like other extensions are having this issue too, so maybe it's as much related to the Core as these various extensions. http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=4763

To clarify what it is that I'm doing to make this error appear. Click on TV Page module, Select a page, click edit pencil on any "Text" or "Image" type (Text, Text w/Image, Image) and it works for a few seconds before offering alt_doc.php for download. This also happens on any news articles I attempt to edit (which will of course use the RTE) or create as new.

Are you using the sysext of RTEhtmlarea shipped with TYPO3 4.1 or have you installed a version from the TER?
Which browser and version are you using?

This seems to be related to a PHP bug. Please try to update your PHP version to the latest bugfix release.
@Jakub: Which PHP version are you currently using?
