RTE does not work with arora
Added by Ben van 't Ende about 15 years ago.
Updated about 6 years ago.
Description
Kubuntu Karmic Koala introduced the Arora browser based on webkit. It is a lean and mean browser. Definitely something to pay attention to. The RTE does not work in Arora. Would be cool if it would work. It is a webkit based browser. Midori is also a webkit browser by the way.

The attached patch against trunk will enable the RTE in any browser that is based on AppleWebKit version 523+.
In the case of Arora, it seems to basically work. Briefly tryied it. I encountered two issues:
1. you need to set the browser options so that dialogue windows do open in new windows and not in new browser tabs;
2. a serious flaw: links in the editing area are actionable, so that you cannot really edit them because by putting the cursor on a link you are lead to the destination of the link...
Please report here any other issue you may run into.
Hi Ben,
I tried this browser again on the BE with current trunk and all I get is a message telling to enable cookies. But they are!
Any idea of what's happening?
Same problem as this one: #14440?
Yes, thanks.
With current trunk, the RTE now works fine in Arora (except for the links that are clickable in the editing area).
Patch committed to SVN TYPO3core trunk (revision 7829).
Works fine in FE. However you need to apply patch for #14440 for the TYPO3 BE to work.
